Patagonian
Lakes District
The Chilean
Lake District is a tapestry of snowcapped volcanoes, the tail of
the Andes, rushing blue rivers, primeval forests and rich farmland.
With On The Loose Expeditions, you can discover parts of the magical
region that most travelers never visit.
Our two-week
journey will begin in Puerto Varas, a German colonial lakeside village.
We will then head for the mountains to explore one of the most unusual
parks in Chile, Parque Puyehue. Natural hot springs and geyser fields
will be the highlights of the next few days as we backpack through
this intriguing landscape. Willing adventurers can summit to an
inactive volcano's crater for a spectacular view of all the southern
Andes.

cohabitate. The last leg of the journey requires a short flight
deep into Patagonia to Pumalin Park where we will hike in a Patagonian
Temperate rainforest amongst trees with 3000 years of history. Walk
