IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Registration: To reserve a space on a trip, please fill out the registration form and sign the back and send it in with a non-refundable deposit. The balance is due 60 days before departure. Checks can be made payable to On The Loose Expeditions, Inc. Should you cancel, the deposit can be applied toward another trip within a year.
Cancellation
and Refunds: On The Loose Expeditions,
Inc. reserves the right to cancel any trip due to inadequate enrollment, which
makes the trip economically infeasible to operate. If we cancel a trip, a full
refund is given but OTL is not responsible for personal expenses incurred in
preparation.
At the time we receive written notice that you must cancel your trip, the following
refunds will apply:
Date of booking - 3 months: Deposit amount less $50 administrative fee. 2-3
months: 100% of cost less deposit amount. 1-2 months: 50% of cost. Within 30
days: No refund.
Trip Cancellation Insurance: We strongly encourage you to purchase trip cancellation insurance. We can provide you with insurance information prior to departure. This low cost insurance protects all deposits and payments should you have to cancel your trip due to personal or family illness. Please deal directly with the insurance company. Baggage and accident insurance is also available. A reminder: If you have purchased discounted airfare, make sure to cover this cost in your trip cancellation insurance.
Choosing the right trip-your responsibility: It is your responsibility to select a trip that suits your ability, level of fitness and state of health. You must provide OTL a signed medical form prior to departure as well as arrive with the appropriate clothing and gear (we will provide you with these forms upon receipt of your deposit and registration).
What does the trip price include?: Guides, permits, all cooking and group equipment, and transportation from the origin city. Meals are provided unless otherwise stated.
What is NOT included?: Airfare from your home to starting location, some meals (noted), passport & visa fees, tips for guides and staff, any medical treatment immunizations, evacuation, and other items of a personal nature while on the trip. Additional room expenses at beginning or end of trip (including single occupancy extra fee) are not included.
What kind of accommodations can I expect?: Since every trip is unique and we visit a wide variety of places, we choose our accommodations on the basis of comfort and simplicity - not luxury. We will specify on our equipment list if you need to bring a blanket or sleeping bag. Some trips will have a combination of accomodations, hotel and simple lodging requiring a sleeping bag. We take care to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Please let us know if you have specific concerns.
